Granted, there are zero details on thr truck, so maybe it’s an ultra-low-mile creampuff... but even then...
Or are the Gen 1 Lightnings reaching unobtanium values now? Should I go curl up in the corner and sob uncontrollably while I succumb to the realization that I will never again own my favorite old muscle truck?!
Rest in pea ce... :’(

Would you like to feel worse? I can help!
There’s a guy six blocks north of me with a Typhoon, a Syclone, and an SVT Lightning. Each i immaculate. And they’re all parked in his driveway. Makes me wonder what he has in either of his three car garages. Yes, he has two garages.

CP, CP,CP, CP,
CP.
...buuuut....
The american truck market is insane. Note the $50k Jeep rubicon pickup. It’s a crackpipe inside a crackpipe surrounded by crackpipes...but someone’s gonna buy it.

But people want a crew cab Laramie King Horn Platimun 4x4 with massaging seats for their $50k.

This is step one of all the cool things I want to do.

Mega crack pipe price. The first gen Lightnings weren’t all that special.
It’s a regular F150 with mildly warmed over 351 Windsor V8s (240HP) , a transmission cooler, a 4.10 final drive, single leaf rear springs and anti-roll bars... with the suspension lowered a bit.
Oh and it has a true dual exhaust with FOUR catalytic converters.
I don’t think a mint 1st Gen Lightening is worth more than $10,000.

I’ve seen that one in a Doug Demuro article and it has something like 125 miles on it

Buy this man a beer. Every day. Until he's your best friend.

I don’t think that’s a real trim level but I honestly don’t know. It could be. Truck trims clearly aren’t overtly masculine enough, I don’t know why they don’t just come out with the “12 inch edition”.
It would be referring to pinion size. Obviously. Nothing else.

That explains it.

They were a parts bin hot rod, but they had plenty of cool and were certainly more special than the 454 SS. I loved mine- it was a blast to drive right up until I smashed it up. :(

It was a nice package, but not $40k-nice.
And they are less interesting to me than the subsequent supercharged versions.

The Gen 2 was a far superior performance machine, but I can’t stand jelly bean F-150s OR Ford modular V8s. I’ve tried to like them, but I just can’t.
